You know when it come to chillen in the summer is there a better place to enjoy a few mins of quite than in the shade of a tall tree with the wind blowing. I have enjoyed many times sitting under tress on hot summer days in MI so this chillen pic is nothing new for me but more of return to a wonderful relaxation.
There is something awe inspiring about watching the leaves blow and hearing the rustle - it brings the power of nature into focus for a moment. I always feel a little small next to a tree looking up at it. I am 6'4" so most of the days I tend to look down on everything around so looking up at a powerful old tree is something that makes me feel small yet comforted in that life is much bigger than me.
I have always wanted to see the Red Woods in Ca. I can not imagine a 300ft tall tree. Who knows maybe before the end of this year maybe I can get out and get a chillen pic there but seeing I don't have a lot of money to fly there I doubt it will happen but YOU just never know - I am trying to figure out how to take my chillen pic on the road :)
